Swedish Beepsend signs breakthrough contract offering direct SMS services in China
Beepsend, the rapidly growing SMS-messaging company based in Malmo, Sweden has signed a unique agreement as an operator to provide direct access to all subscribers in the world’s largest mobile market China.
It is the first known contract where a European SMS-messaging provider gets direct access for A2P messaging, application to person, to the Chinese market with a potential reach of over 1.2 billion subscribers. Examples of A2P messaging are transaction and information services run by hotels, airlines, delivery and transport companies, etc. This kind of messaging service shows explosive growth globally.
“The possibility for us, as one of the first to offer our customers direct A2P-access to Chinese subscribers is a giant step forward”, says Beepsend’s CEO Elisabeth Brevenson, recently awarded Swedish Business Woman of the Year. “It gives us an enormous potential to grow on the world’s biggest telecom market. We know that many of our customers have been waiting for this chance to send text messages without the quality limitations that often follow with distribution through middlemen.”
Adding to the breakthrough in China, Beepsend has also established another direct operating connectivity with Myanmar (still often referred to as Burma). This market has been practically closed for international providers until last year when it was opened up for competition. “We are proud to be pioneers in providing direct access to all networks in Myanmar,” comments Elisabeth Brevenson.
